He becomes inspired by this piece and decides to try and place his own feelings and perspective onto a canvas. This experience convinces him to pick it up for a lifetime’s worth, but he is yet unknown with the hardships that come along when you take a stroll in the world of creation.
Recommended by Natsumi:
Looking at this upcoming anime from the perspective of a former art student, I feel that it can portray a lot of hardship and beauty that comes with pursuing your dreams. Whilst it can also bring awareness to those who are yet unfamiliar with it. The art style looks comforting and familiar, and the characters are very refreshing! I cannot wait to see how their character development will be shown on screen.
Selection Project (SELECTION PROJECT)
Type: Anime
Studio: Doga Kobo
Genres: Music

Number of episodes: Unknown
Every year in the heat of summer the Selection Project gives girls who desire to be idols their biggest opportunity to achieve their dreams. Suzune Miyama, a girl in her final year of junior high school, is one such girl. In poor health since childhood and spending a lot of time in hospital, Suzune becomes inspired by the singing voice of Akari Amazawa and the feelings that came from listening to it. Now, the 7th Selection Project is about to start and Suzune decides to follow in the footsteps of her idol, but only nine girls will be chosen… will Suzune’s dream come true…?
Recommended by PHX:
One thing I have found with a lot of the music-based anime I have seen, not just the ones that have their focus on idols, is that the music and often the story are of very high quality. The music increases the emotional reaction to the plot and gives something that sticks in your mind. But they also often have a lot of comedic moments too. Doga Kobo also created 2 of my favourite anime of the last 6 years, Himouto! Umaru-chan and Gabriel Dropout, so this is one I am looking forward to.
Deji Meets Girl (でーじミーツガール)
Type: Anime
Studio: LIDENFILMS
Genres: Slice of Life
Starts airing: October 2nd
Number of episodes: Unknown
Maise Higa, a lethargic first-year high school girl, meet Ichirou Suzuki, through her part-time work at the front desk of her family’s hotel in Okinawa. Ichirou is a mysterious guy who is visiting from Tokyo on his own. After his arrival “Dëji”, which translates to “Totally” or “Very”, things start happening around Maise, like a giant tree smashing through the hotel ceiling or fish swimming around the room.
Recommended by Yuki:
This sounds like an interesting anime to me, because of the mysterious occurrences that start right after the two main characters meet. I wonder why they’re linked to Ichirou and how the story will unfold. Apart from that the art style also appeals to me quite a bit, it looks slightly simplistic, but still detailed in a way as well.
Mieruko-chan (見える子ちゃん)
Type: Anime
Studio: Passione
Genres: Comedy, Horror, Supernatural
Based on the eponymous manga by Tomoki Izumi.
Starts airing: October 3rd
Number of episodes: Unknown
Mieruko-chan is a story about a high school student who starts encountering paranormal beings out of the blue. Though she acts like it doesn’t bother her and she cannot see them, she is still very afraid of them. Ignoring the horror around her is a necessity to protect her and her friend Hana. Since she is the only one to see them it calls for a lot of miscommunications and comedy amidst the horror.

With my favourite holiday just around the corner, this anime will surely be a blast! Without spoiling too much from the manga I can guarantee some spooky and hilarious moments that will be showcased in this Anime. I look forward to seeing how they worked the storyline into this adaption.

Seiichi Hiragi, a high school boy, has been bullied by his classmates for his appearance. One day his entire school is about to be transported into a fantasy world, with game-like elements such as levels and skills. The voice announcing this, who claimed to be God, explained there were some preparations left to do before they could all be transported. Seiichi’s classmates formed groups to prepare for their transfer, but Seiichi was excluded and therefore summoned to a different area. Once he arrived Seiichi at the ‘Fruit of Evolution’, which changed his life more than he could’ve imagined. He soon becomes one of the champions, surviving and even thriving in this new world.
Recommended by Yuki:
Seiichi is described as someone with a positive attitude, despite the way he’s been treated by his classmates and others around him. He sounds like an admirable character, someone who you’d root for. I’m curious to see how the romance genre will factor into this story, but the plot alone already piqued my interest.

Recommended by PHX:
Sports anime can be an emotional rollercoaster if they are done properly, following the protagonists through successes, failures, trials and tribulations. Sharing in their emotions as they overcome obstacles, strengthen friendships and someday achieve their goals. If you like sports and stories that have a personal journey within them then this could well be something you will enjoy.

Recommended by Natsumi:
This anime is bound to be exciting. The art style feels nostalgic and lovable, the characters seem to have a lot of personality and the setting promises to be full of challenges on the way to their success. I will be rooting for Memenpu and Gaganba to survive their adventures!

Over the last year, there has been a lot of buzz over the original manga for this series which originally got my interest. It seems light-hearted fun on a topic I personally relate to. Plus as the colder weather and darker days start to kick in, we all need a bit of light-hearted fun.
Visual Prison (ヴィジュアルプリズン)
Type: Anime
Studio: A-1 Pictures

Starts airing: October 8th
Number of episodes: Unknown
“Music is a way of connecting and strengthening feelings.” In this anime series, Visual Kei musicians are portrayed as vampires who gather at an annual event called Visual Prison in Harajuku, Tokyo under a red moon. During this event, these artists perform songs to entice the audience. Nothing out of the ordinary, right? The only thing is that the audience is not aware of the fact that these musicians are not human and that they want to offer the most beautiful song to receive great power. A lonely boy named Ange Yuki has travelled to this event to see his favourite artist on stage, witnesses an intense musical battle between a couple of bands and is then hit by an enormous pain. What happens next, you ask? For that, you have to watch the series.
Recommended by Francisca:
After the anime series was announced, it seems to be talked about a lot on the Internet, especially by those with an interest in the Visual Kei subculture. The theme songs are done by in-story bands Oz, Los†Eden and Eclipse. The creator and music producer that is credited is Noriyasu Agematsu, of the unit Elements Garden. He is also known as the composer for his gothic rock band Roselia. For those familiar with the series Uta no Prince Sama, Bang! Dream, Symphogear and a big interest in music (and attractive vampires) might want to check this out.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Movie (劇場版 呪術廻戦 0)

Based on the eponymous manga by Gege Akutami.
Starts airing: December 24th
Set a year before the anime series, the story follows Yuuta Okkotsu, a boy haunted by the spirit of his childhood friend Rika who died in a car accident. When Yuuta feels threatened, Rika attacks those around him leaving a bloodbath in her wake. This causes Jujutsu Sorcerers to intervene to destroy Yuuta and Rika, however Gojo has other plans and decides to get Yuuta to enrol at Jujutsu High.
Recommended by AlexD:
As a huge fan of the series, I can’t wait to see it brought to the big screen. Where it will be weird not focusing on Yuji, it’s going to be interesting seeing the second years as first years but also finally seeing Yuuta animated. Not only that, it will be great seeing the action with a film budget animation as the series looked fantastic already.
