Visual Kei band el:cid will release their first full-length album, titled In the Shade on the 18th of August. The legendary band formed in Kyoto in the early nineties and disbanded after a few years of activities, although they are currently in full force again.
In the time of activities in the 90s, they have put some releases on their name, although not an album. The first album of el:cid will consist of songs that have been recorded in the late 90s but were never released. Nagano (Ex-BEAST) poured new life into the material that was compiled. On the media platform note.com, el:cid shared their album production progress earlier in May and NAGANO shared his vision of the album and how he wanted to create an organic, analogue, warm sound quality with touches of the 80s and 90s.
It is possible to do your pre-order from the 21st of May for this release through the online webshop of HAUNTED HOUSE, although it is good to know that a proxy service is needed as HAUNTED HOUSE does not ship overseas. Another option will be Amazon. The CD will consist of 15 tracks, this will include 5 bonus tracks. An album trailer has been released to give an insight into what to expect from it. An order through the webshop of HAUNTED HOUSE will give you a bonus CD.
Since 2020, el:cid returned as an active band and also started to (re)release music again, starting with an EP, titled Cry for the moonlight. The three tracks of this release can be found back on the major streaming platforms, such as Spotify. They have also restarted with the release of sound sources and music videos to give a new spotlight onto el:cid.
It is said that el:cid have been ahead of time, as they incorporated music genres such as shoegaze and digital rock into their music at the time of their activities in the 1990s before it became more widely known.
