The European fans of Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. do have to wait a bit longer before the ‘soul collective’ will return to Europe for a tour. For the last few years, psychedelic rock band tours through Europe in the autumn period, around October and November.
This was also the plan for this year but that tour will not take place in 2021 but in autumn 2022, as Acid Mothers Temple announced it on their social media channels. The band planned a tour starting from the 11th of October until 13 November, with many shows in the United Kingdom, but also mainland Europe. In 2020, they also had to cancel their European tour.
Acid Mothers Temple shared a message on their social media with a clear explanation: “We announce that we have to cancel the United Kingdom and European tour this October and November. Our government persists to held the Tokyo Olympics from the 23rd of July, even though many people don’t want it. On the other hand, they are behind in the rollout of the vaccination against COVID-19. We know that a ‘vaccination’ should be the important first condition for crossing the borders from now on, but unfortunately, we have no idea when we can vaccinate. We discussed it with our booking agency and we had to decide to cancel the tour this autumn after careful consideration. We hope you can understand our situation. We are already ready to come back to tour anytime, but we don’t want to have any big risk and want to perform all schedules with safety. The UK & European tour will be rescheduled to autumn 2022. We really hope to see you in the new world then, please stay safe”.
Since the pandemic and after the many cancellations and postponements of tours and shows, the band has uploaded their entire catalogue to their YouTube Channel “as a gift during this crazy time”. These videos will stay up for the duration of the pandemic. Recently they have launched their Bandcamp page and filled it with many releases. They also did some special live performances online.
After they started uploading videos on their YouTube channel, they found out that in the time of their 20 years of existence and releasing hundreds of recordings, they haven’t put out any official promotional video. That was the start of a new project, named Acid Mothers Temple meets VISUALISTA, where they invited everybody that were willing to post their work on the official YouTube channel of Acid Mothers Temple. The first videos have been uploaded. If you have not yet visited the YouTube channel, know that there are hours (days) of listening material to be found of psychedelic music.
