For the European fans who have been keeping an eye on the psychedelic rockers of Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O., know that this collective likes to tour Europe every year around the same time. The European tours mostly take place around October and November, at least for the last few years this is the case. That was also the plan for this year, but due to COVID-19, the collective has to cancel the European tour.
On their social media, they said the following: “Sadly Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O.’s European tour 2020 was cancelled. The tour should be held from 14th October to 21st November, it’s impossible to hold by COVID-19. We’re not sure when we can tour safety, but we’re sure to be back and see you again.” The collective added an extra sad note to their message that this tour was the final booking that was done by their booking agent and good friend Tom Relleen, who passed away last month. They added: “Even we can’t tour in your countries, we continue recording new stuff, uploading on our Youtube channel, announce the latest information by our SNS and official website.”
Since the cancellation of Acid Mothers Temple’s tour through North America, the band has been uploading their entire catalogue to their YouTube Channel “as a gift during this crazy time”. These videos will stay up for the duration of the pandemic. After they started uploading, they found out that in the time of their 20 years of existence and releasing hundreds of recordings, they haven’t put out any official promotional video. That was the start of a new project, named Acid Mothers Temple meets VISUALISTA, where they invited everybody that were willing to post their work on the official YouTube channel of Acid Mothers Temple. At the moment of writing, 30 different promotional videos have been uploaded, from psychedelic artwork music videos to live videos.
If you have not yet visited the YouTube channel, know that there are hours (days) of listening material to be found of psychedelic music.
All changes of Japan-related events and events where Japanese musicians are planned to perform are compiled in a list that you can find here. This list will be regularly updated.
