Nishicon’s theme (Bizarre Adventure) is still very suited with what’s going on for the convention. The 2020-edition of the convention was originally planned on 2 and 3 May in Theater Hotel Almelo and had a new weekend planned in August after the Dutch government decided to ban large-scale events until the first of June 2020. But after the extension of these measures until the first of September, it means that the convention is again unlucky. The convention will now be moved to next year, 2021, to an unknown date.
The organisation stated: “We had hoped that the measures would be relaxed at the time we had chosen our new date. However, the opposite is true and the measures have been extended. This means that we will not be able to organise an event this year.”
When Nishicon 2021 will take place will be announced at a later date. The tickets that have been purchased until now will be valid for the new date. Keep an eye on the Nishicon website for programming updates when the new date is known.
All changes of Japan-related events and events where Japanese musicians are planned to perform are compiled in a list that you can find here. This list will be regularly updated.
