Akihabara-based maid cafe @home cafe (“at-home cafe”) will hold a special pre-opening event for the opening of its second Osaka restaurant with a special ceremony and livestream on Instagram.
With the first Osaka restaurant only being opened in June 2019 and its high popularity in the first few months, it was decided that Osaka needed an extra @home cafe. The second Osaka cafe will officially open for customers on the 1st of December, but @home cafe’s masters and princesses with Gold-level membership or higher can attend the exclusive pre-opening event on Saturday, 30 November, to be greeted by the cafe’s maid staff and receive a special commemorative gift.

Established in 2004, @home cafe has become a top destination for travellers to Japan who want to experience authentic Japanese maid cafe service, led by the legendary maid and Chief Branding Officer Hitomi. “It has been half a year since our first mansion opened in Osaka,” said Hitomi. “I appreciate our masters and princesses so much! Because of your support, the maids of @home cafe can have more places to serve you! Please visit our new mansion on the 2nd floor of the Osaka Main Store.”
Hitomi will host the special opening event in person beginning at 8:10 pm local time on Saturday, 30 November, and international fans will be able to view the event on Instagram.
Starting in 2015, @home cafe has collaborated with Sanrio characters Hello Kitty, Gudetama, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, and Pompompurin, where guests at @home cafe’s mansions can enjoy special collaboration dishes and cute, character-matching maid uniforms. Every year, the ‘@home cafe maids of the year’ ranking are held, where the year’s top premium maids are selected and awarded additional duties as maid culture ambassadors. These ambassadors have been regularly active to spread Akihabara culture overseas, bringing maid service to the United States, Chile, Mexico, Russia, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. Celebrating the cafe’s 15th Anniversary this year, @home cafe released the song Aikome♡Forever, their first new music video in 6 years, featuring 19 of the award-winning restaurant chain’s premium maids.
