Ill Japonia, the solo project of BO NINGEN’s Taigen Kawabe, will tour with English experimental rock band Black Midi in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The tour is planned for February 2020.
Taigen Kawabe is best known as the lead singer and bassist of London based Japanese psychedelic band BO NINGEN. He has a couple of other side projects in addition to Ill Japonia, such as Mainliner with Makoto Kawabate from Acid Mothers Temple and KISEKI with 食品まつり a.k.a foodman. For the idol group おやすみホログラム (Oyasumi Hologram), Ill Japonia made a remix of the track happy songs. This song can be found on the remix album ….. that was released in July of this year and was released on vinyl through JET SET in August.
Black Midi are an English experimental rock band from London, England. The band consists of Geordie Greep, Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin, Cameron Picton and Morgan Simpson. Their name is derived from the Japanese music genre Black MIDI. Their debut album Schlagenheim was released on 21 June 2019.
