Product Review: Glico – Caplico Atama

Photographs by MuchMunchies

Caplico are usually ice cream cones filled with chocolate, available in different flavours. Glico produces these and has also started producing these new snacks called Caplico Atama, the word ‘Atama’ means ‘head’ which refers to the fact that there are no cones and just chocolate. These Caplico Atama come in an adorable star shape and an adorable heart shape.

Glico – Caplico Atama – White Milk Chocolate
Price: ± €2,-

These milk and white chocolate snacks are star-shaped and have a bubbly texture on the inside. The two kinds of chocolate complemented each other well, both were creamy but the white was slightly creamier than the milk.

Seven of these chocolates had an original Caplico drawn on the bottom. The rest had a star on the bottom. These were nice details.

Glico – Caplico Atama – Strawberry Chocolate
Price: ± €2,-

Heart shaped strawberry and milk chocolate snacks with a bubbly texture on the inside and yet the chocolate is still quite creamy. The strawberry flavour is subtle but present, the milk chocolate flavour is a bit more dominant and slightly bitter. The pink strawberry chocolate was slightly creamier than the milk chocolate.

One of these chocolates had an original Caplico drawn on the bottom. The rest of them had a heart on the bottom. Some nice details, just like in the other version.

Both kinds of these Caplico Atama contained a sort of candy box with a see-through lid. Each had a total of 12 chocolates in the packaging and had a total weight of 30 grams. Although I’ve never tasted the original Caplico product I imagine they didn’t use different chocolate for this version, all you’re missing is the wafer and personally, I didn’t miss the crunch of a wafer. I liked them just as they were.

These are perfect as a little snack or as a gift for someone you care about.

All members are dressed in dark clothing and standing in what seems to be an old clock tower. The same location and imagery can be seen in the music video for "Shadow of Time", which is produced by Mind Art Visual.

A group photo of the band Iscream Never Ground posing in front of a colourful backdrop, created by graffiti. All members are dressed in the same way, same dark shirt with paint splatter motive, but they are wearing a different colour pants and shoes. Those pants and shoes are in the same colour for each member, perhaps used as a member colour. The members stand in a row and strike a pose as if they are making an exaggerated walking motion: one leg is raised and the other is on the ground, one arm is balled into a fist and held close to their face, whilst the other arm, also with a clenched fist, is positioned behind them, with their elbows bent. © アイスクリームネバーグラウンド - Iscream Never Ground
