After organising the talk and discussion with Mako & Ken Oshidori, collective behind Hope Step Japan! will organise another edition of the memorial event with the theme: From Now On.

Since the great earthquake 8 years ago, the word ’restoration’ has been used in so many occasions. What has this ‘restoration’, which has been ongoing for the past 8 years, brought to Fukushima up until today? Learning from the example of Fukushima, Hope Step Japan! would like to share a moment to think together how we – as a member of a global world – should proceed from now on, for making a better living for all.

The 2019-edition of Hope Step Japan! will take place at the Okido Yoga Center in Amsterdam from 14.15 till 17.30. Entrance donation for this event is € 5,00. A part of this donation goes to the schooling programme for helping the children in Fukushima.

Programme

14:15 Door open
14:30 Interview video ‘Meaning of continuing arranging flowers in Fukushima’ feat. Atsunobu Katagiri
14:55 Presentation ‘Changes in 8 years’ by Futures (Nico, Luka, Hikaru)
15:15 Break
15:30 Presentation ‘Restoration in Fukushima 2012-2019’ by Tashi Iwaoka
16:15 Short film ‘Ambiguous Loss’ by Toru Yamada
16:25 Open talk
17:30 Close

Hope Step Japan! is a collective of Japanese residents who organise events every year around 11 March, in which the Great Earthquake of 11 March 2011 is commemorated by means of various activities, which focus on how now after this earthquake that took place on 11 March 2011. In recent years, the organisation ensured that there is room for information provision, discussions, workshops, the possibility to buy products from Japan and more to create awareness related to post 311 Japan from different angles and to make people (re)think about the current living condition together and make positive steps forward. This is not only for Japan but for the entire globe.
