Viencon Summer Festival aangekondigd: Cannonball Splash!

Great news for those who are looking forward to Viencon, after the cancellation of the 2017 edition the organization announced that the first edition of Viencon will take place in 2018. The exact name of the event will be Viencon Summer Festival and it will take place at Center Parcs Limburgse Peel. The date is set on the weekend of August 31st till September 3rd.

Origin

It all started with a pool party a few years ago for a few friends. This party was a weekend of (cosplay) photography photo shooting, relaxing, BBQ and having a good time. Because everybody enjoyed their selves, they called it Viencon as a joke. The organizer is called Vien. The pool party was a great success and has grown into a bigger event where everybody with interest in cosplay and photography is welcome. During Viencon Summer Festival there is also a Summer Market where you can shop around. More information about the event can be found on the social media and the website website of Viencon.

Last year the new convention, with the name Viencon, was announced for September 2017, but got cancelled because a certain goal wasn’t reached in a certain time. This wasn’t the reason for the organization to totally quit with the event, but the try it again in 2018. Vien means complete and happy in Vietnamese, and therefore fits with the concept of Viencon. That is the reason why the organization didn’t choose for another name.
