In the weekend of September 2nd and 3rd, it is again time for an autumn edition of the known Manga & Cosplay Festival in the Japanese Garden in Hasselt (Belgium).
The activities at this festival are diverse and for young and old. You can expect for example a taiko performance with a taiko workshop, a cosplay competition where cosplayers can show their costumes on a 10-meter long catwalk, the CosplayCloud group pictures, and much more.
Both days will start at 10.00 and end at 17.00. There will be different booths where you can buy Japanese food and drinks, but also connect with the Cosplay community, and join different workshops. At 14.30 there will be a performance of Hanna van den Borne who turned anime music into classical music. The total and up-to-date programme can be found on the website or Facebook page.
The Japanese Garden in Hasselt is a big garden and very known as a location for photo shoots and walks. For anyone who is curious what Japanese pop culture can offer, this event is a great starting point to find out.
To come in you will pay € 5,00. The last editions of the festival gave visitors the option to come in for free if they are in cosplay costume. More information about the entrance prices and how to reach the garden can be found on the website.
