At the exclusive group exhibition POP POP POP at Amsterdam’s Losdok, numerous works by 16 Japanese artists will be on display beginning on Friday 14 October. AAA Gallery, a Yokohama-based art gallery that also plans domestic and international travelling exhibitions, has brought the artists together in collaboration with do-it-yourself project space Losdok in the capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam, to show the up-and-coming pop artists of the next generation.

Japan, regarded by many as a treasure trove of pop culture, has managed to spread all over the world, just think of the various Japan-related conventions, films and series, concerts and exhibitions (like COOL JAPAN in Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Antwerp).

This group exhibition POP POP POP will cover the numerous facets of the contemporary art forms that are popular in Japan, including comic book art, collage decorating (painting and 3D items are mixed into one work of art), pasvivi (stands for pastels and vivid colours), and dusty art. From artworks in Japanese style to pen drawings, oil paintings, and digital works. Everyone who is interested in Japanese art or culture might find something to their liking here.

On a special page, all the participating artists can be viewed, including some information and photos of their works. The exhibition can be visited until Friday 21 October (closed on 17 October). Losdok Gallery is accessible by tram from Amsterdam Central Station.

About AAA Gallery

AAA Gallery has held exhibitions in Japan, but also South Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, and Hong Kong, among others. The participating artists in these exhibitions range in experience from amateur to professional. Due to the low-key nature of these exhibitions, the gallery has been able to let more than 4,000 artists participate in its exhibitions.
