The organisation behind the film festival CAMERA JAPAN came with good news for the lovers of Japanese film: there will be a physical edition in 2020. The event will take place from 24 to 27 September at LantarenVenster in Rotterdam with the usual kick-off at WORM on 23 September. Then the festival will move to Amsterdam for a long weekend from 1 to 4 October.
Furthermore, the organisation shared the following message with their announcement: “With so many events and festivals cancelled through the spring and summer, the CAMERA JAPAN team worried about the fifteenth edition of the festival. Fortunately, the situation has now improved and we hope things will only get better, so we have decided to go ahead with the festival.
The festival will be a little different than the event we had in mind, but the most important thing is that we are able to organise our annual showcase of the finest, most promising, strangest, funniest, most beautiful films Japanese cinema has to offer. Not to mention delicious food and a few surprises…”
Time to mark your agenda for the CAMERA JAPAN Film Festival if you haven’t thrown it away out of frustration. In the upcoming time, the organisation will share the film programme and eventually extra programming they might have planned.
