On Sunday 23 February 2020, culinary platform bySam organises the Amsterdam Ramen Festival for the second time after a sold-out first edition. The location of the festival is Het Sieraad. During this day, visitors can buy the Japanese dish at several ramen stalls, attend workshops of the famous Yamato Ramen School and see with their own eyes how to make fresh noodles. In addition to ramen restaurants from Amsterdam, top chef Dennis Huwaë (Daalder/Edel by Dennis) and ramen shops from Düsseldorf, Nijmegen and Delft will also serve ramen.
During the festival, you can order half bowls ramen (from €5) so you can try several types of ramen. Tonkotsu ramen, ramen with chicken, shoyu ramen, spicy ramen and much more. The following stands serve ramen ToKokoro Ramen from Nijmegen and Nikkou Ramen from Delft serve their signature ramen. Tokyo Ramen Iki from Amsterdam & Tokyo Ramen Takeichi from Düsseldorf serve multiple types of ramen and hold a Spicy Ramen Challenge. Finally, Fou Fow Ramen is coming especially for the Amsterdam Ramen Festival with a limited edition ramen. Top chef Dennis Huwaë cooks a special ramen: “When I used to cook at the Okura Hotel we had a ramen lunch every Sunday. The whole place was filled with Japanese. I made so many ramen at that time.”
Still, there will not only be ramen to eat during the festival, but also Japanese snacks and beer. And that goes well with karaoke. The Amsterdam Ramen Festival will take place on Sunday 23 February 2020 at Het Sieraad on the Postjesweg 1 in Amsterdam West. The festival starts at 13.00 and lasts until 19.00 PM.
