While the four ladies of Otoboke Beaver (おとぼけビ~バ~) are preparing for their upcoming European tour, where they are celebrating the fact that they quit their jobs, they already have plans of returning to Europe in June. The band has been confirmed for the 20th edition of Primavera Sound in Barcelona. The organisation of the long-running festival announced the line-up for the 2020-edition earlier this week. The festival will take place from Wednesday 3 through Saturday the 6th of June.
The name Otoboke Beaver is taken from a local love hotel and got formed in the Summer of 2009. The band calls itself as the Japanese ‘knock out of pound cake’ band and sings only in Kyoto street language. They have been performing quite a lot in the United Kingdom during the Golden Week in Japan, that was the only period of time that they can take time off from their work. In 2019, the band released the album ITEKOMA HITS, a compilation album with a few new tracks. Last year they were able to introduce themselves at festivals like SXSW and Pinkpop. This year they will tour Europe for the first time.
