MV Review: EMPiRE – SUCCESS STORY

Because that's what they are.

It’s easy to remember back when EMPiRE was a rumour around WACK fans, because they appeared the group that would never debut, overshadowed by their sister groups BiS, BiSH and GANG PARADE.

Their faces would be hidden by hoods until each member got 10,000 followers on Twitter, which was later extended to 20,000 followers.

They would have to wait a whole year before releasing one of the greatest debut albums to come out of WACK, THE EMPIRE STRIKES START !!.

EMPiRE is a group, that defied expectation, that has consistently achieved their goals and yet, still remain largely overshadowed by BiSH, BiS and GANG PARADE – but as time goes on, they may change.

Their latest music video SUCCESS STORY features the debut of new member NOW EMPiRE, following YUKA EMPiRE’s graduation.

Filmed in at the Palace of Festetics in Budapest, it highlights each member unique vocal range, while portraying their energetic dance choreography in the traditional idol style – the music video itself lacks much substance, as it mainly consists of moving camera shots around the interior and exterior scenes as the girls dance in the courtyard.

It is certainly not the best EMPiRE video, but it is charming to see the girls in action, in a location that must have been quite spectacular to experience, with a catchy song and a title that EMPiRE deserves, after all of their hard work.

The costumes look great, the girls look great, the location is great, the song is uplifting, upbeat and thanks to the industrial electric guitar solo, it’s harder to classify it as simple idol music.

Rating: 70/100
