This is not a sponsored review and because of this I won’t mention where I bought this set, if you do an online search using the name of this kit you’ll be able to find this one in several webshops.
Heart – Chocolate Spinner – Simple
Price: ± €4
Extra supplies: Scissors, Spoon, Scotch Tape, Refrigerator, Microwave*, Heatproof Bowl or Cup
* Instead of melting the chocolate in the microwave you could heat it au bain-marie, with a heatproof glass bowl on top of a pan with a small layer of boiling water. Stir gently until all of the chocolate has melted.
With this kit you create a cute amusement park ride, a spinner with chocolates shapes like airplanes, bunnies and bears. This kit is part of the Japanese “Omocha-Gashi” series, with several amusement park rides, and I will definitely review some of the others as well. A fun detail to this kit are the paper versions of the airplanes, bunnies and bears, which you can stick to the lollipop sticks once you’ve eaten the chocolates, so you can play with it without chocolate as well.
Flavour: ♥♥♥
Tasty milk chocolate, like I’m used to from Heart, with a little bit of a bitter aftertaste. The chocolate was creamy.
Time needed: ⧗
Making the chocolates is very simple, after this you mainly have to wait for the chocolate to set. Putting the spinner together doesn’t take up a lot of time.
Difficulty level: ★
All of the steps are very simple, the chocolates are easy to make and the spinner is easy to fold.
Similarity: ??
As you can see the final result resembles the image on the packaging. The only difference is the colour of the spinner itself, this doesn’t correspond entirely with the packaging.
TIP: Make sure you fill the mould well, so the wings and feet aren’t too thin so they won’t break when you remove the chocolates from the mould. Remove the chocolates carefully and calmly from the mould.
Want to enjoy this kit again?
Clean the mould with warm water, after using it, and let it air dry. Don’t use soap to clean the mould.
If you want to reuse the mould you could use any kind of chocolate you’d like to use, dark, white, milk or whatever flavour you’d like. You could use the mould to shape fondant as well, for example.
