GANG PARADE will soon release the album GANG PARADE takes themselves higher!! and the idol group is busy with promoting the upcoming release with music videos. At the beginning of the month the music video GANG PARADE was released, but if the video is not convincing you at all about the potential of the group, maybe the イミナイウタ (Imi nai Uta) is worth watching and listening.
GANG PARADE in short
GANG PARADE is active since 2014. First of all, the group was named Pla2me, later on, in 2015, it was renamed to POP (abbreviation for Period of Plastic 2 Mercy). At the moment the group consists of Yamamachi Miki, Yumeno Yua, Kyan Maika, Terashima Yuuka, Yui ga Dokuson, Coco Partin Coco and AYA EiGHTPRiNCE. Last mentioned joined the group earlier this year. GANG PARADE is signed to the label T-Palette Records. The sound that GANG PARADE is not the poppy music that you would expect from the ‘normal’ idol groups and is characterized by some as alternative idol, or abbreviated alt idol.
Back to the music video
イミナイウタ (Imi nai Uta) stands for a meaningless song. If you start the song, you will receive directly a roar of heavy music and nonsensical lyrics. Next to that, there is a music video filled with artsy-fartsy chaotic images with a whiff of humour. No fixed dances that run synchronously together, while they are dressed in matching clothes. No, all the girls looked like they have pulled something out of the closet. Some are more colourfully dressed than the other. It reinforces the colourful character of the video.
The danceable track may have no meaning, the music video does contain a meaning. The video is full of with and says a lot about the girls in this group form. It is obvious that they have had a lot of fun making the music video. Even if you do not follow GANG PARADE at all, this music video can’t stop you to start smiling thanks to the silliness of these girls. And I really like that!
