BAND-MAID is on a roll with making themselves more known in the music world. Last year the band was on tour in Europe for the first time and fans expect them to see them back in Europe later this year. That has all to do with their release of their first album, titled Just Bring It. This asks for a new tour. In the meantime the band is busy promoting the album with releasing new music videos. Don’t you tell ME is one of them.
The sound that BAND-MAID makes is a well constructed and melodic rock, the appearance of the band members shows that they are gentle. But do not be deceived, because even though they are dressed as cute maids, they are all rock chicks who are fierce. BAND-MAID is not a group where the members only dance and sing, these girls take their instruments to themselves and show that they can do it all (without help) and the music sounds pleasing for the ears!
Don’t you tell ME is very melodic, solid and a perfect song to singalong with. This will definitely have to do with the English sentences in the lyrics. The melody sticks in your head, which makes you hum automatically. The video starts with a couple of seconds where you see women in ball dresses and men in costumes and masks dance in a chic environment, that reminds me of a Viennese gala ball. In that same room, the band will start rocking. The story that the girls, consisting of MIKU, SAIKI, KANAMI, AKANE and MISA, are maids has been loosely emphasized in the story that will be shown next to the performance that BAND-MAID is giving. Don’t you tell ME basically doesn’t need a solid story to support the song. The girls know how to convincingly transfer the music to the audience and leave behind a cosy mess at the end. Who will clean that up?
