In less than two weeks, the 2026 edition of HYPER JAPAN Festival will kick off at the Olympia London, with three days packed with activities centred on Japanese culture. The UK’s biggest Japanese culture festival will be presenting a packed programme of music, food, fashion, gaming, workshops and shopping on 24, 25 and 26 July. We’re giving away tickets for this event. Read on to find out more!

What is happening at HYPER JAPAN Festival 2026?

Let’s first start with the most important part, music. Alongside big names from Japan such as Queen Bee, avantgardey, Upiko and Eir Aoi, the organisers behind HYPER JAPAN have also invited other interesting acts, such as Re:O, The Sixth Lie, Sacred Fleramo, and JERO11. There will also be room for traditional elements, such as performances by the traditional Awa Odori dance group Warakuren, Nobu Goto performing Gagaku (Japan’s traditional court music) and Aigoro Hanayagi showcasing the beauty of traditional Japanese dance.

In addition, this year HYPER JAPAN will present a special gaming zone for the first time, where visitors can discover the unique character of the Japanese indie gaming scene. Virtual Stage Productions will create a new virtual stage at HYPER JAPAN this year, featuring more than 30 VTubers. Visitors can also be inspired by the special fashion show being organised, and there is plenty to discover in terms of cosplay, with a dedicated Cosplay Area and a Cosplay Masquerade.

This year’s HYPER JAPAN market will host over 530 exhibitors, including independent artists and creators, so there’s bound to be something for everyone. The workshops are also very diverse, ranging from making traditional Japanese sweets to martial arts and music. Check the HYPER JAPAN website in advance to see which workshops are on offer and which ones may require an additional ticket to take part.

If you need a break between attending performances, workshops and shopping, there’s plenty of choice to recharge your batteries with freshly made Japanese snacks. Think onigiri, yakisoba, karaage and omurice, as well as sweet treats such as bubble waffles, mochi and bubble tea. When it comes to serious drinks, there’s also plenty on offer in the way of beer, liqueurs and sake.
