At the closing concert of Wednesday Campanella’s first concert hall tour through Japan, it was announced that the music unit will tour both Asia and Europe this summer. Titled SUMMER TIME GHOST, Wednesday Campanella will hit six cities, including Seoul, Taipei and Bangkok in Asia, and London, Milan and Paris in Europe.
In addition, Wednesday Campanella will also be perform at Poland’s OFF Festival in August. It will be Utaha’s first time performing in Europe since joining Wednesday Campanella in 2021. But Wednesday Campanella has performed at OFF Festival before, which was in 2018 with former frontwoman KOM_I.
Formed in 2012 by Dir.F (director) and Kenmochi Hidefumi (composition, arrangement), the group is known in Japan as 水曜日のカンパネラ (Suiyōbi no Campanella). In 2016, they adopted the English name Wednesday Campanella for their international debut at SXSW, though the original Japanese name continues to be used domestically. After KOM_I’s departure in 2021, Utaha took over, adding a fresh energy to the project. Wednesday Campanella is known for their inventive mix of EDM, hip-hop and Japanese pop, and their playful, narrative songs that often revolve around historical or mythical figures from a variety of cultures. The tour title is named after Wednesday Campanella’s latest single.
