After postponing their European tour in 2020 due to the pandemic, Japanese punk rock band FUNGUS will finally be heading to Europe this October as special guests of Swedish punk rockers THE HEADLINES, following their previous tour together in Japan five years ago.

The upcoming tour in Europe, to celebrate the release of THE HEADLINES’ new album HOMEWRECKER, consists of nine shows in four countries, starting in Sweden and ending in Germany. Just before the tour kicks off, FUNGUS will release their 10th album, RISKY ASIAN HOME, marking their first original full-length album in six years. Last year, they released a self-cover album with re-recordings of fan-favourite tracks with the Tokyo-based band’s new line-up. According to the homepage of FUNGUS, they have titled their upcoming tour in Europe as RISKY ASIAN HOME TOUR.

The Japanese punk rock band was formed in 1997 by former members of punk band TRACY, vocalist Kamasaka and bass player Shibagaki. After releasing their first album in 2000, they have kept busy with a total of ten albums, including two best-of albums, a split album, and a self-cover album, but also three mini-albums, one EP, six maxi-singles, several appearances on compilations and seven DVDs—quite the discography to explore. Their musical range spans from intense, energetic punk tracks to passionate, gentle, and heartfelt numbers. In addition to vocalist Kamasaka and bass player Shibagaki, the current band line-up includes drummer Shinji and the latest addition, guitarist GEN.
