The two-member alternative rock band mophing people, consisting of former Shonen Knife bass guitarist Litsuko and vocalist and guitarist Makoto Miyoshi, who is also a member of rumania montevideo, will head to Europe for the first time in October for several shows.

The Osaka-based band has a handful of shows scheduled and will perform in two countries, Germany and France, during their first European outing. The band may add another show, but keep an eye on mophing people’s social media for any updates.

After their formation in May 2021, the alternative rock band released a few digital singles and an EP, but also a cassette tape via Gerpfast Records and a song for the Adult Swim compilation Japan is Loud. After all these releases, they finally decided to come out with a full-length album on CD and vinyl, titled mppp, in the summer of 2023. Both musicians are songwriters, with almost all the music composed by Makoto Miyoshi and lyrics by Litsuko. From mophing people, you can expect banging noise guitar rock, but also aspects of pop, lo-fi, and alternative rock.
