After playing a number of festivals in July, including Festival International de Jazz de Montréal in Canada, as well as La Mar de Músicas festival in Spain, folk singer-songwriter Ichiko Aoba has several more (festival) shows planned in Europe in the coming weeks. Besides performances in the UK and Germany, she will also be seen in Belgium and the Netherlands. After that, Ichiko Aoba will tour Japan to promote her newest single.
Ichiko Aoba started to play the classical guitar from the age of 17 and released her first album, two years later, sharing her fantasy world through sound. She has released several albums, with her latest album being アダンの風 (Adan no kaze, Windswept Adan) of which a live version was also released, recorded at Bunkamura Orchard Hall. In 2020, marking her 10th anniversary, she established her independent label hermine. Ichiko Aoba most faithful companion is the guitar, but she also plays the piano, clarinet, accordion, and flute on her own. The acoustic sound and songwriting are inspired by her dreams. Aoba’s most recent release is the single lullaby, succeeding her previous single released last year, meringue doll. For lullaby, the singer-songwriter collaborated again with Taro Umebayashi for the composition for the first time since the album Windswept Adan.
