In a few days, the 2024 edition of MIKU EXPO will start in North America, but there is also good news for the fans of Hatsune Miku in Europe as the European leg of MIKU EXPO 2024 has been confirmed and, like the North American tour, it will be a collaboration between Crypton Future Media and Crunchyroll. The European leg of MIKU EXPO 2024 will start on 26 October in London and ends on 2 November in Berlin.

In honour of its 10th anniversary, the theme for MIKU EXPO 2024 is Universal Positivity, echoing the original theme from 2014. There is also a theme song to celebrate this milestone and this year’s world tour, titled Intergalactic Bound by Yunosuke & CircusP feat. Hatsune Miku. A music video directed by Tanaka Masaaki was presented at the start of the year. From the start of MIKU EXPO in 2014, the concert tour hit 30 cities worldwide, with a total of 68 shows. At MIKU EXPO performances, Hatsune Miku is brought to life through 3D rendering and her repertoire is created entirely by individual creators, making her the world’s first crowd-created virtual talent.

Originating as a popular Vocaloid software voicebank developed by music technology company Crypton Future Media, which allows you to create songs by entering lyrics and melodies resulting in music with a synthesised singing voice. The character Hatsune Miku with her recognisable synthesised voice, turquoise long hair in twin tails and coloured futuristic clothes became so popular that she grew into a cultural phenomenon, performing all over the world as a virtual vocalist.

This is a digital painting of the avatar of Vocaloid producer and songwriter Kikuo with colourful and flowing long hair and two red horns. The painting shows Kikuo in a movement where he moves his arms, making it look that he has several arms. The avatar seems to be mysterious with a quiet but expressive look. This painting has been used for the Kikuo World Tour 2024 – 2025 “Kikuoland-Go-Round” promotion.

The four band members of KLONNS stand side by side in front of a concrete wall with a door. The wall seems to be painted in greyish and off-white colours with a bit of red. Three of the musicians are dressed entirely in black clothing while the fourth band member wears jeans and a light pink coloured jacket over a white shirt with a black cat on it. Some filters have been applied to the photo which clearly shows some noise in the picture and also makes it look a bit dated. Photo by Chihiro Yoshikawa.
