With a brand new album out, titled stillness, softness…, Hinako Omori will tour Europe again. The European tour consists of 11 shows in seven countries, with four shows in the United Kingdom.

During the UK leg, Omori will be joined by Aga Ujma at all shows in the United Kingdom, Akiko Haruna will DJ at the London show and Lottie Sadd will open the show in Leeds.

The work of Yokohama-born, London-based composer and musician Hinako Omori is said to be more like an immersive map of the mind in the ambient style than a simple recording because it uses therapeutic frequencies, forest baths (also known as shinrin-yoku), and binaural sound, resulting in an experience that is more than a simple recording. This characteristic was particularly audible on her debut album, a journey…, and since that album she has opened for Beth Orton, Anna Meredith and Ichiko Aoba, played with a 60-piece orchestra for BBC Radio 3’s Unclassified, and in September was part of Floating Points’ ensemble at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles to perform Promises, his collaborative album with the late jazz saxophonist Pharoah Sanders.

Released via Houndstooth Records in late October, her latest album explores shining a light on our shadow sides – facing our fears, letting them go and finding peace and stillness within ourselves. With celestial electronic symphonies, ethereal vocals and drum machines, stillness, softness… is said to be Omori’s most accessible album to date, showcasing her true range as a composer, artist and synth virtuoso.
