Ojou to Banken-kun (お嬢と番犬くん)
Type: Anime

Genres: Romance
Based on the eponymous manga by Hatsuharu.
Starts airing: 28 September
Number of Episodes: Unknown
You can’t decide which family you’re born into, but if Isaku could have chosen she definitely wouldn’t have wanted to be the daughter of a yakuza boss. After the death of her parents, when she was 5 years old, she moved in with her gangster grandfather, who raised her as part of the clan.
Years later Isaku is finally going to start high-school, she hopes to live a normal life and maybe even fall in love.. These plans are ruined when the Isaku’s dedicated guardian, and loyal family servant, Keiya follows her to high school. The 26-year-old vows to protect her from all the thing she hoped to experience. High school is tough enough without Keiya around, how will she cope?
Recommended by Yuki:
Although I’m sort of anticipating that a romance will bloom between Keiya and Isaku, I’m hoping it won’t and will more so be about him preventing her from following her heart and living high school life like she wants. I think it’d be fun to see her struggle with navigating high school and romance, when there’s a yakuza lapdog next to her at all times.
A relationship between the two would probably look fine on screen, given that the style doesn’t show their age difference that much, but would technically mean an underage child and a 26-year-old start a relationship.. So that’s not something I’m rooting for.

Recommended by Natsu:
This is a very touching story about regret and perspective. They do an excellent job of allowing you to connect with the characters and their ties with their friends and mortality.
Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri (鴨乃橋ロンの禁断推理)

However he doesn’t quite have the skills for the role and so one of his seniors suggests he seeks out Ron Kamonohashi. Now reclusive, Ron was one of the most promising detectives from the highly regarded Detective Training Academy Blue five years ago, but faded away for unknown reasons. A shell of his former self, the story develops as Totomaru manages to get Ron onboard into a current serial murder case.
Recommended by AlexD:
Having grown up on detective shows, I have a soft spot for murder mystery style shows with an oddball detective at the centre. In anime particularly these shows are rarely intended for a shounen audience, so will be hopefully a refreshing change from previous similar work.
Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijou. (私の推しは悪役令嬢。)
Type: Anime
Studio: Platinum Vision
Genres: Comedy, Fantasy, Girls Love, Romance
Based on the eponymous light novel by Inori and Hanagata.

Rei Oohashi suddenly wakes up in the body of the main character of her favourite otome game, called Revolution. She’s happy to be greeted by her favourite character, and the villainess of the game, Claire Francois. Rei has set her sights on Claire, instead of the game’s male leads she’s supposed to pursue. Will she succeed in winning over her beloved villainess?
Recommended by Yuki:
Honestly, this sounds like a super fun anime to watch. There’s a lot of potential for funny and sweet moments. It’s a nice twist on otome games and I wonder how both the main antagonist and the male leads will respond to this surprising turn of events.

Fast forward to the present day, Kudo, a 17 year old high school loser, is enrolled in the programme which has grown dramatically in size to now also deal with international threats. The story follows Kudo who is tasked with protecting Tokyo against a potential surge in foreign assassins.
Recommended by AlexD:
Where I have watched a whole lot of high school anime, for me it is a first to see it balancing with them being a ninja protecting Japan and the world from terrorism. Particularly as it seems it isn’t being played off as comedy and is focusing more on the combat and action scenes. Sure to be an adrenaline rush, something we all need as the colder weather starts to set in!
Undead Unluck (アンデッドアンラック )
Type: Anime
Studio: David Production
Genres: Action, Comedy, Supernatural
Based on the eponymous manga by Yoshifumi Tozuka.
Starts airing: 7 October
Number of Episodes: Unknown
In a world where some people get born with special abilities, it’s pretty depressing when your ability is to make your own life and people in your vicinity incredibly unlucky. At some point this causes Fuuko Izumo to put an end to things. However before that happens she runs into Andy, a man who wants nothing other than to die but isn’t capable of doing so. Which causes her to continue to try to make his wish come true.
Recommended by Lecros:
The classic combo for fun shounen anime is a good mix of comedic special abilities and enough fights to see those abilities in action. And from what I know from Undead Unlock that’s exactly what we’re getting. An ability like making people Unlucky can be a pretty depressing topic however with the right comedic timing and a person who can take the hit we can have a ton of funny situations while we see them fight with themselves and others.

There’s one condition: Saikawa can do whatever he wants with everything underneath Sayama’s mask. Although Sayama hates it when people touch his bare face, he cannot say anything when Saikawa does it, in fact.. He seems to enjoy it.
Recommended by Yuki:
I haven’t read the manga, but I hope the OVA focuses on a bit of backstory and lets us see their relationship develop. I think the setup leaves plenty of space for them to grow into a fun and cute couple.

Recommended by Natsu:
I’m a sucker for revenge stories, and this one is no exception! A witchy tragedy is ideal for a fall entry, and I hope you appreciate this dark fantasy as much as I do.
Paradox Live the Animation

Phantom Live is rising in the near future since the saturation of the hip-hop culture. The rappers wear accessories embodied with ‘Phantom metals’, creating illusions which are connected with their emotions through DNA. Others are negatively influenced by the metals and are driven insane.

Recommended by Hageshi:
The idea of illusionary music battles leave up a lot to the imagination and I wonder how they will portray this. Also I wonder how they will actually show these Phantom battles and in what way they develop the stories around all characters.

To follow in her fathers footsteps Angeline also became an adventurer and she even managed to make it to S-Rank however she keeps telling everybody how amazing her dad was which causes Belgrieve to slowly get back into the role of an adventurer.
Recommended by Lecros:
Nowadays there are a lot of anime series about a fantasy world where people try to get ahead in the adventurers guild but usually we experience the journey from rank F upwards. The great part about this anime is that our main characters have already been adventurers and that we look at somebody whose career had already died off but is slowly getting picked up again.
Which serie(s) are you going to watch?
