The seventh edition of YouTube Music Weekend is coming up and has a focus on digital native artists

Under the guise of ending the summer holidays on a good note, YouTube Japan has planned a new edition of YouTube Music Weekend on the last weekend of August: from Friday 25 August to Sunday 27 August, this time the digital event is supported by docomo.

In case you are not yet familiar with this concept, YouTube Music Weekend is a weekend filled with premieres of live performances, music videos, talks and other videos created exclusively for this weekend. The seventh edition will feature 57 artists dubbed ‘digital native artists’ who have received international recognition and come from Japanese internet culture, including artists such as ZUTOMAYO, Eve, PINOCCHIOP, n-buna, Hoshimachi Suisei and YOASOBI. These musicians are the headliners for the seventh edition of YouTube Music Weekend.

YouTube Japan has put everything in a playlist so you don’t have to search for the videos that will premiere, but it is definitely recommended to subscribe to all these YouTube channels. The event will also be linked to the recently launched PictoPOP playlist, which represents digital-born artists and showcases the performers’ music to the world via YouTube Music.

All participating artists of this edition: Aiobahn / 明透 (ASU) / 天月 (Amatsuki) / IA / ヰ世界情緒 (Isekaijoucho) / Eve / ウォルピスカーター (Wolpis Carter) / 花譜 (KAF) / 神山羊 (Yoh Kamiyama ) / カンザキイオリ (Iori Kanzaki) / Kikuo / キタニタツヤ (Tatsuya Kitani) / キツネリ(Kitsuneri) / Guiano / くじら (Kujira) / 獅子志司 (Shishishishi) / syudou / 須田景凪 (Keina Suda) / Snail’s House / sekai / ずっと真夜中でいいのに。 (Pmaru-sama) / FAKE TYPE.

This is a digital painting of the avatar of Vocaloid producer and songwriter Kikuo with colourful and flowing long hair and two red horns. The painting shows Kikuo in a movement where he moves his arms, making it look that he has several arms. The avatar seems to be mysterious with a quiet but expressive look. This painting has been used for the Kikuo World Tour 2024 – 2025 “Kikuoland-Go-Round” promotion.
