Matsumoto Zoku Band set to enchant Europe again with summer festival tour

Matsumoto Zoku Band will return to Europe for a summer tour with performances at various festivals. The European tour kicks off in Italy on 8 July and the four-piece will visit six countries.

Originally started as a duo in 2013, this band has since transformed into a quartet since 2022, consisting of Reo Matsumoto (handpan, beat box and percussion), Koji Matsumoto (handpan, didgeridoo), guitarist Kenta Hayashi and bassist Nory. The Matsumoto Zoku Band can be best described as an organic instrumental quartet that performs dance music with a psychedelic slant, moving between musical genres such as dance, psytrance, hip-hop, rock, funk and ambient.

Since their formation, Matsumoto Zoku Band performed in 31 cities in 14 different countries, meanwhile they have performed six times at the Hungarian O.Z.O.R.A. Festival, making them now resident artists. Individually, the band members all have a lot of experience as musicians in other music projects, which they put back into the music of the Matsumoto Zoku Band, precisely inspiring people with the various approaches and instruments they bring with them. To date, the band has released several albums while still active as a duo, including Matsumoto Zoku and Matsumoto Zoku II and an EP Ho-High.

Thursday 13 July, 2023: Didge & Bass at Music House- Graz, Austria
Saturday 22 July, 2023: HUG Festival – Pápateszér, Hungary
Saturday 29 July, 2023: Landjuweel Festival – Amsterdam, Netherlands
Sunday 6 August, 2023: O.Z.O.R.A. Festival – Dadpuszta, Hungary
Friday 11 August, 2023: Tribal Elek Festival – Andilly les Marais, France
Saturday 19 August, 2023: New Healing Festival – Berlin, Germany

Reo Matsumoto will also have a couple of shows in Europe during this tour. It might be possible that more shows will be added, for that you need to keep an eye on the social media of Reo Matsumoto.
