Ferret Noise, the solo project of Tsushimamire bass player Yayoi Tsushima, will perform two shows in the United Kingdom. They are the first UK shows for Ferret Noise. The European tour of TsuShiMaMiRe just ended – expect a live report soon – and the musician decided to extend her stay in the United Kingdom to promote the just-released second album 見下ろすと、街 (I looked down, there was a town).
The two shows are scheduled for later this week, on 22 June and 24 June. The first show will take place at Exchange in Bristol, where pollyRS will be the support act. The second date got added earlier this week and will be at Reference Point in London. The show will be part of Refracted: Vol 3 where experimental musick, poetry and visual art gets a place to shine. During this evening, London duo Doom Country will take the stage and will be joined by Trà My Hickin for a special guided meditation.
Yayoi Tsushima, who has been classically educated since the age of five, has also been engaged in ceramics and has had solo art exhibitions in Tokyo to display her work. In Ferret Noise, Tsushima does the vocals, keys and bass programming to create the music. She delves deeper into the sonic spectrum with this endeavour, embracing experimentation and playfulness through her own distinctive brand of beat-driven expressive electro-clash.
