Crowdfunding campaigns can be an effective way for independent artists to gather financial support from their fans and followers. In the last few years there were several Japanese artists that decided to start such a campaign to raise funds to achieve their goals, Tokyo-based solo musician SARI is a good example of this.

Since her departure from the idol group NECRONOMIDOL, SARI has not slowed down for a second. She is highly active in her artistic expressions in fashion, art, and photography, in addition to her music productions, which may be best defined as experimental electronic pop with a dash of ambient, hyper pop, R&B and synthpop. In January of this year, she released her very first album, 大団円-Ending-(Daidanen -Ending-), and soon after she announced the fact that she will go on a European tour, and at the same time she will stay in Sweden for around a year. This means that SARI will get many opportunities to perform in Sweden and further in Europe.

Not surprisingly, she has chosen Sweden as her home base for at least a year. After making her solo debut in Japan, she got the opportunity to make her European debut as a solo artist in Sweden. Her connection goes beyond Sweden, as she was also able to release her first mini-album A U Se on vinyl through French label Specific Recordings in 2022. Also to mention, before she made her solo debut, she was invited to join the Monster of Dolls event in Italy, in addition to the several European performances when she was still part of the idol group. All in all, enough connections and memories have been made already and there are more to come for SARI.

Her stay will be a good way to strengthen the bond with Europe, enhance her cultural understanding and eventually work on new music and other projects. The crowdfunding campaign was a great success, SARI managed to get well over the amount she needs for her plans. Recently she arrived in Sweden en she is preparing to have her first European performances of this year.

The first performance that is part of SARI’s European tour will take place in Sweden. The show is scheduled to take place on the first of July at Stockholm’s Patricia. There she will perform with the singer-songwriter SAI (also active in Ms.Machine), who also did a succesful crowdfunding campaign to travel around in Europe and eventually perform whenever possible, but a show in Sweden was on top of the bucket list for the musician. Then SARI will be performing in Italy with idol group ERISU on the 7th of July, this will be followed up with a show at Belgioioso Comics and Games, also in Italy, on the 8th of July. Furthermore, she has added an additional date in Italy, with a show at Rimini Comics during their Japan Night programming on 13 July. On 27 July, she will be back in Sweden for a show at a convention that has several other idols invited for the summer edition, NärCon. Other artists invited to this convention are Himari’s solo project Isiliel and Mad Jamie. There is also a show planned for SARI in France in September, to be specific on the 22nd, at Sonic Lyon.

The tour is already off to a good start with several shows here and there in Europe. SARI updates her Instagram account and Twitter account with all the schedule updates, because since she will be staying for around a year in Europe, this means that the European tour will be a lengthy one.
