Rock band RADWIMPS will embark on a European tour coming May. The tour is powered by Crunchyroll and consists of five dates in the United Kingdom, Spain, France and Germany. It has been a while since the rock band was in Europe for shows, dating back to 2015, when the band performed in France, Germany and the UK.
Formed in 2001, RADWIMPS quickly attracted a large fan base and made their major label debut in 2005. The band received awards at the Japanese Academy Award for Best Original Score for the creations of music for record-breaking animated films Your Name and Weathering with You. In November 2021, the band released their latest studio album FOREVER DAZE, was written throughout the pandemic and shows the musicians’ musical challenges. Given that the rock band often collaborates with director Makoto Shinkai, it was perhaps no surprise that they also contributed to the brand new film Suzume.
Meanwhile, part of the tour is already sold out, which is not entirely surprising with their popularity. Indeed, the Yokohama-based rock band did the same with their tour of North America.
