Japan’s borders have been open to everyone for a while now, but that doesn’t mean the folks staying at home won’t have the opportunity to watch live concerts through streaming, including April in 85’s anniversary concert in December.
During the pandemic, the pop-rock band has already had several performances livestreamed, including the band’s 5th anniversary, an album release party and the annual THE DREAMING BAY event. Now fans can look forward to another anniversary concert from the band on 17 December.
The show, titled THE TRAJECTORY SINKS INTO THE SEA, will take place at the cosy Shimokitazawa DaisyBar, which has become a favourite venue for April in 85. Besides the fact that the band, consisting of frontman Yuichi Abe, with the support of guest musicians Maki on guitar (CUICUI), Ayumi Shiraishi on bass guitar (CUICUI) and Koki on drums (NAMELESS), will perform in front of an audience, this concert will be broadcasted live via Twitcasting, for 2000 Japanese Yen. This live broadcast will be a multi-angle camera stream, with the use of four cameras. If you are not able to catch the performance live, you will be able to watch the archive of the performance for one week after the show. Should you be able to attend the show in-person, then you can buy a ticket via the webshop or livepocket.
The stream will start at 19.30 (Japanese time), which means it will be 11.30 in the Netherlands, an early lunch show, and 10.30 in the United Kingdom.
April in 85 got formed in 2016 after ex-the butterfly nine cord vocalist and guitarist Yuichi Abe decided to turn his solo project into a band format with support musicians and name it after his birth month and year. To date, the pop-rock band released several singles, a mini-album, three albums, including a special digital release titled EDUCATION, filled with out-of-print sound sources, singles and previously unreleased songs that did not appear on the other two albums, WONDER WAVE WALKER and SLEEP IN WHITE.
April in 85 will release a new single on day of the anniversary show, a double-A single for the tracks REFRAIN and a new recording of the song GIVE.
