This October, the Japanese hardcore/screamo band envy will embark on a 16-show tour in Europe. On October 13, the band will make their first stop in France, where they will perform for the second time this year after appearing at the French festival Hellfest in June.

Surprisingly, the six-piece has no performances scheduled in the United Kingdom, but they will have shows in Portugal, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.

The fact that the sextet would tour Europe was announced earlier this year, it was accompanied by a message: “We would like to believe in what we can do to make this tour a memorial one for everyone. We hope to see you all.”

The band attempted to tour Europe last year with Amenra and Jo Quail. However, after this tour was postponed because of the pandemic, the band opted to put off touring and concentrate on making music. The band’s most recent tour through Europe was in the December 2019 where they toured with the English post-hardcore band Svalbard.

envy have established themselves as one of Japan’s top exports to the international post-hardcore scene since their formation in the early 1990s. They are a favourite among lovers of post-rock and alternative metal thanks to their experimental, cinematic approach to heavy melodic rock. The emo/screamo scene also laud them for their powerful, emotionally raw vocals and lyrics.
