In the middle of cancellations and postponements, there is also some good news of tour announcements. There are not many, since the current ongoing situation of the pandemic is still making many things uncertain. Still, there are some who are trying to plan a show or tour in Europe. Earlier today, multi-instrumentalist Yuko Araki announced her European tour with visual artist Daisy Dickinson. The tour will take place in November and December 2021.
Araki collaborated before with Daisy Dickinson on a couple of videos and added: “(I) have been dreaming to perform live together, we really hope this tour will happen.” The European tour consists of 20 shows, starting at Café OTO in London and ending up at Het Bos in Antwerp.
Last year, the musician had plans to tour through Europe, but had to cancel this due to COVID-19. At that time she confirmed that she would return to Europe in 2021.
Yuko Araki started playing the piano as a child and later when she was a teenager she got inspired by hardcore and metal music that she heard in her hometown rehearsal studios. Soon became eclectic and took on a diverse range of projects, including drummer of the oriental/tribal dream psych band Kuunatic, a founding member of the Neoclassical noise duo Concierto de la Familia and her own solo project: harsh noise drones layered by analogue synthesisers, cymbals and samples of Japanese traditional instruments creating abstract rhythms and dissonant harmonies that sound like a noise orchestra. In 2019, she released her debut album, titled II, on tape and digitally.
