Last Saturday was World Goth Day, for many who feel part of this subculture, it is the perfect day for those in the goth scene to get together and to celebrate its own being, and an opportunity to make their presence known to the rest of the world. Since the pandemic is still ongoing, there were many events taking place online with the streaming of music events.

One of them was Gothic Pogo Festival, one of the most known and biggest underground events based in Leipzig. Existing since 2000, it stands for a unique mix of goth, punk, wave & minimal. It is therefore a platform for known and unknown artists and DJs. Last Friday, the online edition of this event kicked off and went on until today, Whit Monday.

During the online edition of this year, named 14.666, a myriad of DJs and musicians were performing and sharing their love for dark music. Nao Katafuchi, currently living in Germany, did a live set of around 23 minutes on the Friday evening of 21 May at Gothic Pogo Festival, as part of the Mutant Transmissions Special. With a guitar and a synth box, Nao creates his own world of cold romantic wave. Other genres that can be placed on Nao Katafuchi’s music is synth-pop and synth wave.

For those who missed out on the live performance, can watch it back on YouTube thanks to DJ Polina Y of Mutant Transmissions Radio. The live performance was filmed from the studio of Unter Null with five cameras.
