Today it is the 11th of March, 2021 and that means that it has been 10 years ago that the Great East Japan Earthquake took place with a large tsunami as a result. This year Yahoo! JAPAN and LINE will hold a charity project where you can help with the project by searching for 3.11 on Yahoo! Japan.
Since LINE joined this collaboration, searches on LINE will also be included. With every search, 10 yen will be donated, up to 50 million yen for each company. The donation will be used to support those and the areas that got affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake in Tohoku. Searching for 3.11 on Yahoo! Japan and LINE will be possible until 23.59 Japanese time (16.00 in the Netherlands, 15.00 in the United Kingdom).
In order to not let the memories of the earthquake fade, Yahoo! Japan also presents a few other options to help, such as donations for reconstruction and building for the future and buying products that are made in the Tohoku area. There are also articles and interviews with people who talk about what happened after the disaster, what it has changed for them and what the issues are that need to be addressed in the future. This charity project has been organised by Yahoo! Japan since 2014, this year it has been the first time that it is a joint collaboration with the popular chat application LINE.
