Since there was no 2020 edition of Made in Asia at Brussels Expo, the organisation was full of hope with the 2021 edition that normally takes place mid-March. While other Japan-related events announced cancellations or postponements, Made in Asia waited with an announcement surrounding the event until today. As it was originally scheduled to take place in a month’s time, the organisation has made a decision. The 2021 edition will be postponed to September of this year.

The organisation shared a message on their social media stating: “The March 2021 edition of Made in Asia will be postponed due to current Corona security measures. The next edition of the festival will take place in September 2021. We are currently in talks with Brussels Expo to set a new date as soon as possible so that the whole Made in Asia community can come together again. We hoped to welcome you again in March 2021 in Brussels Expo to celebrate our passion for manga and anime as it should be. But unfortunately, the virus is still present and there is no permission from the government to organise a large-scale festival like Made in Asia, despite all the extra safety measures.”

While the organisation can’t wait to meet the visitors when the time is right, they did also give some more information about the exact dates, because they have only mentioned the month. Currently, they are in talks with Brussels Expo to fix the exact date of the next edition. As soon as this date is confirmed, Made in Asia will contact all ticket holders. Then you can also let them know if you want to keep the tickets to use them for the September dates or want your money back.

All changes of Japan-related events and events where Japanese musicians are planned to perform are compiled in a list that you can find here. This list will be regularly updated.
