In March, a special collaboration got announced through the website of Japanese Film Festival Magazine to bring everybody a step closer to the world of Japanese cinema. With the new free streaming video service JFF ONLINE a selection of long features and short indie films can be viewed.
Moosic Lab is a leading Japanese movie competition launched in 2012 that is considered as the gateway to success for emerging directors and musicians. Up-and-coming film directors and music artists collaborate to create work based on the chemistry between movies and music. Japanese Film Festival is a platform launched by the Japan Foundation to raise interest in Japanese films with the aim to connect with fans across the world. JFF Magazine is started to provide a deeper insight into the world of Japanese cinema.
The service to broadcast the indie films is available everywhere and possible via the website of JFF Magazine, except for Japan. There is no subscription fee for this streaming service. Choose a film and you will find a comment of the director, information about the cast, the musician or band who made music for the film and a photo gallery. It is possible to share your feedback on the film as well. The films have English subtitles.
With the current situation in mind, this is a perfect way to get acquainted with the latest indie films and the musicians who worked on the music for these films. It will be viewable for the coming period, although an end date has not been specified.
