Until On 24 March 2020, an exhibition with paintings by Beppe Mokuza Signoritti, one of Europe’s foremost masters of Japanese Ink painting, Sumi-e and Zen, will be on display during an exhibition at 5&33 Gallery (in Art’otel) in Amsterdam. The exhibition is titled The Dance of The Brush.
For 30 years, Beppe Mokuza Signoritti has dedicated himself to Sumi-e and Zen meditation practice. This exhibition is the expression of a deep spiritual search that flourishes through the practice of Zen and whose essence is revealed in Sumi-e. On display are several works in the traditional style of Sumi-e, such as bamboo, orchid, chrysanthemum and plum blossom. In addition to these, Beppe Mokuza Signoritti reveals new works painted in Zenga technique as well as other abstract works.
Beppe Mokuza Signoritti teaches all over Europe and there is a special connection to the Netherlands. Since 2011 he visits The Netherlands for workshops and demonstrations. To make this exhibition possible, there was a crowdfunding that is still running for a couple of days.
During the two months that you are able to visit the exhibition, there will be opportunities for guided tours, demonstrations and trials (on request). 5&33 Gallery is located at the Martelaarsgracht 5, across the street from Central Station.
