Product Review: Yaokin – Fruity Doodle Pen & Flower Candies

Photographs by MuchMunchies

This is not a sponsored review and because of this I won’t mention where I bought this set, if you do an online search using the name of this kit you’ll be able to find this one in several webshops.

Yaokin – Fruity Doodle Pen & Flower Candies – Simple
Price: ± €3
Extra supplies: None

With this kit by Yaokin you create some cute flowers, or rather you slightly decorate flower candies. There are three kinds of candies in the package: pink, yellow and blue. Aside from that there’s also a ‘fruity doodle pen’ included.

Flavour: ♥♥
As someone who enjoys sour candies I definitely enjoyed the contents of the ‘fruity doodle pen’, which was described as ‘sour gel’. It had an artificial strawberry flavour to it and a bit of sweetness as well. The gel wasn’t watery, but also wasn’t super firm. It added flavour to the gummies, but I could still taste the gummies as well.

The different coloured gummies didn’t have very different flavours to them. They were all sweet but didn’t have very distinct flavours to them, except for this artificial flavour. They’re covered in sugar, to create a rougher texture. The gummies are supposed to have blueberry, strawberry and mango flavours according to the packaging. I didn’t recognize these flavours when eating the gummies.

Time needed: ⧗
Since this kit doesn’t have very many steps to it, it takes almost no time at all.

Difficulty level: ★
This is a quick, one step, candy kit. All you need to do is squeeze some ‘fruity doodle pen’ contents onto the centre of the flower gummies.

Similarity: 📷
The final result doesn’t look very similar to the pictures on the packaging. The gummies seem to have a very different texture to them, rough rather than smooth and shiny because of the sugar coating. Aside from that the colours are off as well and the shape of the candies isn’t the same.
