OSAKA MONAURAIL announced through their social media that they will visit Europe in October for a tour, starting from 17 October in Spain. Performances will furthermore take place in the United Kingdom and Germany.
Recording and touring together for more than 25 years, OSAKA MONAURAIL are seen as Japan’s finest funk orchestra. The group released 7 studio albums, 2 live albums, the nine-piece has been deemed as a must-see act. The group experienced many member changes, but the current line-up has been steady for more than 10 years: Ryo Nakata (vocals and keyboards); Teihei Awaji (trumpet); Shimon Mukai (tenor saxophone); Kazuaki Shimizu (trombone); Dan Hayami & Yuichi Ikeda (guitars); Tsuyoshi Ouchi (bass); Soki Kimura (drums). While the group is named after the place where they started, OSAKA MONAURAIL is currently based in Tokyo.
OSAKA MONAURAIL toured Europe a couple of times, the last time was in 2016 where the band had a similar tour planning, although a bit longer, with shows in Spain, Germany, France and the United Kingdom.
