From today it is possible to (re)visit the exhibition of Momo Okabe (1981, Japan). In conjunction with Pride Amsterdam 2019, Foam presents the work of this photographer from the museum’s collection. The selection of photos of the series Bible and Dildo was shown before during an exhibition in 2015. Bible and Dildo tell the story of Okabe’s lovers and their struggles with gender dysphoria, identity disorders and social isolation.
Momo Okabe received a Bachelor’s degree in Photography from Nihon University of Art in 2004. In 1999 her work was selected by Nobuyoshi Araki for the prestigious New Cosmos of Photography Award and in 2015 she won the Foam Paul Huf Award. In that same year, the solo exhibition Bible and Dildo became a fact. Her photobooks Dildo and Bible are published by Session Press. Raised in France, she lives and works in Tokyo.

Bible and Dildo can be visited until 4 September. Foam is open daily from 10.00 until 18.00, Thursday and Friday from 10.00 until 21.00.
