The 12th edition of the Japan Market in Leiden, organised by Japan Museum SieboldHuis, will take place on Sunday 9 June 2019. We have to wait for another month and hope for good weather!
It has since become a regular activity for many Japan lovers: visiting the Japan Market at the Rapenburg in Leiden. Every year the event seems to be busier and busier, which is a sign that the event is becoming increasingly well-known. Japan Museum SieboldHuis is also open for visitors, currently the exhibition Japanese Nudes can be viewed.
What does the Japan Market Leiden offer this year? There will be a wide variety of Japanese (cultural) goods on the Rapenburg. Also there will be some food and drink for sale this year, which can be found on the Groenhazengracht. There is also seating here. Just like previous years at Rijksmuseum van Oudheden, opposite the Japan Museum SieboldHuis, you can attend Japanese martial arts demonstrations. You can also visit the Groenhazengracht for performances by Raiden Yosakoi and Pure Percussion.
The market is open from 12.00 to 17.00 and there is free admission. If you want to visit Japan Museum SieboldHuis, you have to pay entrance.
