Recently the Asian unit SVGV moved to Los Angeles to work on new materials. The latest release is the digital single Who Am I which perhaps refers to their recent move from Asia to North America.
The first notes of the song come from the piano and are reminiscent of Western pop songs. The ballad is very suitable for the voice of Ramy, fragile and soft, and thus very matching with the lyrics she sings. The lyrics have been added to the music video, not very complicated, but powerful in combination with the music. They will be familiar to anyone who is insecure about themselves and where they are in life. The images of Los Angeles confirm the feeling of pondering, a peace is created, while certain parts of the lyrics are emphasized in the picture.
Extra addition, in order not to make the music video appear too common, the dancer Maki Saruwatari wants to bring the song in motion. Who Am I is a delicate song that sometimes gets a techno beat over it. SVGV has recently gone to the electro side and with the move to Los Angeles also seems to be westernized in terms of output.
