It seems as if what Kyary Pamyu Pamyu touches, immediately becomes colourful and sweet with a dash of silliness. From the introduction to PON PON PON we have become accustomed to the happy, alienating world where everything is cute, striking and decorative, including the singer and model. In KPP’s latest music HARAJUKU IYAHOI (原宿いやほい) it seems to have done a little extra.

Harajuku is basically the place where you have to be for fun fashion and inspiration, something that Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅ) does give through this crazy video that starts with walking hands, hats, collection of shirts, caps, shoes and later in the background the name of the shopping centre Laforet that is shown with light bars. In the beginning, you can see Kyary Pamyu Pamyu riding you on innovative two-wheelers on moving ‘plaques’, while the typical cute singing voice of KPP will be heard. On a simple dance melody which easily stays in your head in combination with “1,2 IYAHOI, HOI HOI HOI” – three Kyary’s dance in cute dresses on the tune. The dances are easy to imitate, but by the spin of the skirt looks very cheerful. In HARAJUKU IYAHOI there are also enough lights, including figures that contain lights and tree trunks dancing along with the dance to give it more effect and to add to the craziness.

With over three and a half minutes, it is called a complete number, but I got a taste for more!

Rating: 80/100
