If your band is called THE NOVEMBERS, then the month of November should mean something. Normally this indie rock band will do their annual gig on the 11th of this month, but this time they used the date to announce a livestream, planned for December.
Planned for Friday 11th of December, the band will share a showcase of their latest album, album number 8, released in May of this year in the midst of the pandemic, titled At The Beginning. With the release of an album, normally involves a tour, in which the new release gets promoted. But this was with the current ongoing situation understandably not possible.
Until now they were unable to play it in front of an audience and thus the live broadcast was, for now, the solution. The performance has been already recorded and is directed by Yousuke Asada, who has been in charge of many music videos and live productions of THE NOVEMBERS.
The ticket sales are done via PIA, normally a difficult platform for people outside Japan to buy tickets on. But luckily the band presented a link for those who were not able to buy a ticket before. It will still go through PIA, but it is a different page where everything is presented in English. If you are not able to watch the stream live, then you can watch the archive until one week after the broadcast.
THE NOVEMBERS are a four-piece alternative rock band. Originally formed in 2005, they made their debut with a self-titled EP in 2007. In the following decade they have released eight original albums and a best-of album, launched their own independent label MERZ, and played countless shows including appearances at Fuji Rock Festival (2014/2017) and other major festivals. The music of THE NOVEMBERS dances between the soft, sometimes melancholic and heavy noise rock with sprinkles of many other music elements.
