It has been a while since the noise rock band Melt-Banana last toured mainland Europe, but following an extensive tour of the United Kingdom in 2024, the duo will return to Europe this spring for 17 shows across six countries.
Notable performances include those at the Primavera Festival in Spain and Portugal. Two shows are planned in the Netherlands: at dB’s in Utrecht and Musicon in The Hague. Before that, the duo will give a one show in Belgium at 4AD music club in Diksmuide. With their tour entitled SLinGShot, the duo had already performed a series of shows on the West Coast of the United States in November 2025. The upcoming European performances are a continuation of this SLinGShot tour.
Melt-Banana, active since 1992, first as a typical four-piece band, now a duo consisting of vocalist YAKO and guitarist AGATA. Described as a rock band with a touch of punk, after listening to Melt-Banana’s music, you will soon think that this may not be a complete description. Yet it won’t matter that much to the band, as Melt-Banana stands for innovation and progression, and the band’s sound is more likely to fall into a different class than simply rock with a touch of punk or noise rock. In many cases, this band is more likely to be seen as inspiring and trendsetting for many other musician in the world. In 2024, the duo released their first new album in 11 years, 3+5, via their own label, A-Zap Records.
