A new year means a new tour through the United Kingdom for cyberpunk duo PSYDOLL. In March, the two musicians from Tokyo will play at least nine shows as part of their Mutate Tour. The tour kicks off in Glasgow on the 26th of March and ends in London on 4 April.
The summer of 1997 saw the formation of PSYDOLL, currently consisting of guitarist Ucchi and vocalist Nekoi. Nekoi is active in the manga industry and the duo shares their love for Japanese animation and sci-fi films. This was the inspiration for their industrial sound from the beginning. The band started with performances a year later and started touring outside Japan in 2001. The duo presents themselves as the newest in Japanese robotics and claims to be made of iron, plastic and PVC.
The cyberpunk duo is no stranger to the United Kingdom, having performed there numerous times since 2003 and completed many tours. They have also performed in other European countries, including the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Germany, and Austria. In recent years, they have mostly been seen in the United Kingdom for various tours, and several live reports can be read here (2023, 2025).
PSYDOLL’s long career has seen many releases, from albums to singles, including Cthulka Romantica in April 2024, a mini-album with three new songs and a re-recorded song from PSYDOLL’s early days. In addition, PSYDOLL produced a theme song for the Canadian indie film Punk Shark, which was released as a single in March 2025. It can all be found on their Bandcamp page.
