In November, virtual pop star Hatsune Miku will return to Europe for a seven-city tour, including Brussels and Amsterdam. The tour, which travels around the world under the banner of MIKU EXPO, celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2024 and returns to Europe with a steampunk theme after a two-year absence. MIKU EXPO will also head to North America with 15 performances in April and May.
Since MIKU EXPO began in 2014, the concert tour has visited 50 cities worldwide, totalling 120 shows. During MIKU EXPO performances, Hatsune Miku is brought to life through 3D rendering, and her repertoire is created entirely by individual creators, making her the world’s first audience-created virtual talent.
Originating as a popular Vocaloid software voicebank developed by music technology company Crypton Future Media, which allows you to create songs by entering lyrics and melodies, resulting in music with a synthesised singing voice. The character Hatsune Miku, with her recognisable synthesised voice, turquoise long hair in twin tails and coloured futuristic clothes, became so popular that she grew into a cultural phenomenon, performing all over the world as a virtual vocalist.
